For Brass Quintet

This fanfare was commissioned by St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney, for performance at a special service to celebrate its re-opening after extensive restoration work. The service took place on 30th January 2000 and the fanfare was performed by Sydney Brass.

Afterwards, I revised and slightly expanded the fanfare in the hope that it might provide a useful introduction to other events or occasions warranting jubilation rather than pomp. Weddings, for example.
