Amy Dickson to premiere Bird Spirit Dreaming on saxophone in Canberra

On Wednesday 4 May & Thursday 5 May 2011 the internationally acclaimed saxophonist Amy Dickson will give the world premiere of the saxophone version of Ross’ Bird Spirit Dreaming, originally composed for oboe and Diana Doherty, who has played it all over the world with outstanding success.

The Canberra Symphony will be conducted by Nicholas Milton. The concert, which will include popular works by Tchaikovsky and Rossini and The Pines of Rome by Respighi, will begin at 7.30 pm in Llewellyn Hall, ANU School of Music.

Ross, who is currently working on a new concerto for Amy, will attend the performance and will speak about his work during a pre-concert talk.
